Blog 3.1: North American Moving Services

1. Describe how the company/business used the four “P’s” to add value and/or promote the product or service.

Product- North American Moving Services

Price- They don’t discuss pricing, but rather feature their excellent customer service that will establish your corporate account within 24 hours.

Place- North America

Promotion- An ad placed in a Human Resource magazine with a large moving truck. The pavement ahead is written with words saying, “did you mover forget the truck?” North American Moving Services is highlighting their personal mission to deliver service beyond expectations.

2. What industry(s) is the product or service a part of?

Moving Services. Auto. Employment Recruiting.

3. Describe the target market.

North American Moving Services current largest competitor would be U haul. North American Moving services has made efforts to differentiate their service apart from the competitors. Placing this ad in a Human Resource magazine leads me to believe that they are targeting employers. Employers are going to want to make the inconvenient move for the employee the best that it can be. North American is pushing their expertise in customer service and making the move personal to display their ability to meet this desire for employers.

4. Does it work? Why or why not? Any general observations?

I think the ad does a sufficient job at grabbing the reader. I particularly liked their logo; however, their website looked cheap and had pop-ups all over. The level of professionalism displayed on their web-site is not high enough for most companies.
